Cloud Computing: Introduction

Being based on network and the internet, any hosted service that can be delivered over the internet is referred to as cloud computing. All you need to use this next-generation service is a high-speed connection and your usual web browser. The best thing about cloud computing is that it allows the user access to their data in any place, at any time. Being a decentralized source, information can be added to it via satellites.

Here are some services that cloud computing provides:

  1. SAAS- Also called “ Software-as-a-service, is the most common type of cloud computing service. It is used quite frequently by us. All you need is a web browser to access the software. SAAS programs can be either free or paid. Google Docs and Dropbox are the two top examples.
  2. PAAS-  Also known as “ Platform-as-a-service” is a service that can support web application development and other aspects like editing, testing, updating, etc.  This also offers developmental tools and business intelligence to users. Windows Azure and Google App Engine are 2 significant examples.
  3. IAAS- IAAS or Infrastructure-as-a-Service allows users to use various infrastructure capabilities in one cloud. IAAS is a smart solution that eliminates the need for huge physical infrastructures present on site. It is involved in providing access to huge business platforms. Amazon EC2 is one of the most noteworthy examples.

To conclude, cloud computing allows us to access our data without being bound to a location and without having to worry about carrying hardware everywhere.
